Garvita is the Co-Founder of “Why Waste?” a student initiative to save drinking water and recycling organic waste. “Why Waste?” works on the principle of changing the behaviour and mindset of institutions on saving drinking water.
For her efforts, Garvita was identified as one of the Youth Entrepreneurs from across India by Ashoka Innovators for the Public, world’s largest network of social entrepreneurs. Her initiative was selected to represent India at the Google expeditions in August 2016 for the virtual reality classrooms under the domain of youth social entrepreneurship. Further, India Today featured her story in a special documentary along with 5 other teen changemakers from across India.
Garvita recently completed her schooling from National Public School, Bangalore where she set new standards as the captain of her school. She is extremely passionate about dance and has obtained a senior diplomat in the classical dance form Kathak and is studying forward to complete her masters. A pen and ink artist, Garvita also has trained in fine arts for over 8 years.
Moving forward, Garvita intends to leverage technology to build and create positive change.
